Thousand Pounds Action Company

Thousand Pounds Action Company is an independent company, based out of Los Angeles, California, co-created by Christopher C. Cowan, Vonzell Carter and Darren Bailey in 2010, who produces short action films which include an Asian martial arts sensibility, as well as visual effects. The team consists of various actors, stunt performers, visual effects artists, editors, directors, and fight choreographers. Their videos are funded as an out-of-pocket expense, with many of their Youtube videos including the cost of production in the info section of that corresponding video. However, it is stated on the company's Facebook page, "We hope to gain investments for our own projects and to be available to help the needs of other filmmakers and artists. We also have committed to continue making exciting adaptive and original films."

The name Thousand Pounds comes from a Chinese martial art principle stating that only four ounces of force is enough to move a thousand pounds.

The company has received notoriety on Youtube for their anime and video game adaptations to a live-action format, most famously, the videos based on Capcom's Street Fighter franchise. Their videos have been featured on the main websites of Capcom [1] and Kotaku [2], among others.
